IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

Fuse box · what to do if the power goes offThe fuse box is near the exit, inside the house. If a switch trips, it usually goes back up in 30 seconds. Step-by-step diagnosis below.

The apartment's fuse box is in the corridor, near the exit door (inside the apartment, not on the landing). Each switch has its own black label: MAIN, SOCKETS, LIGHTS, SUBMERSIBLE PUMP. If for any reason the power trips, in most cases it's one of these switches that has flipped down — and you just put it back up.

How you'll notice · the emergency light in the corridor comes on

If the power goes, in the corridor (above the fuse box itself) a small emergency light automatically comes on. That light coming on is the signal that the power has gone, and it lets you reach the fuse box without tripping.

  2. 02

Open the box · look for the tripped switch

Open the box's transparent flap. Look at the black switches: in their normal position they all point up (I = ON). If one has tripped, it'll be pointing down or halfway. Often it's enough to push it firmly back up and the power returns.

  3. 03

If you don't know which one tripped · an orderly procedure

Manually flip down all the switches on the right (SOCKETS, LIGHTS, SUBMERSIBLE PUMP). Leave only MAIN up (the first on the left). Flip it up. Then switch the other three back on one at a time, from left to right: SOCKETS → LIGHTS → PUMP. The one that trips the box again is the one connected to the problem.

  4. 04

Most frequent cause · too many appliances at once

This house is almost all electric: induction hob, washing machine, dryer, air conditioners, kettle, microwave, coffee machine. If you happen to use three or four of them at once at full power, the power can trip from overload — it isn't a fault, it's protection. Switch a couple of appliances off, put the SOCKETS switch back up, and everything's as before. Nothing has happened.

  5. 05

If they're all UP and there's still no power

It means the problem isn't inside the house. Look out of the window: if the nearby buildings are dark, it's a local blackout — just wait (usually 10–30 minutes). If, on the other hand, there's light nearby, write to us straight away on WhatsApp so we can check the meter or the supplier from outside.

  6. 06

If nothing works · write to us

If you've tried everything and the power won't come back, don't keep trying the same thing: you risk stressing the system. Send us a WhatsApp telling us what you've already done. From there we decide together how to proceed — sometimes a quick intervention of ours is enough, in other cases an electrician is needed, in really serious cases we can arrange alternative accommodation. We won't leave you on your own, we'd simply rather not give timings before we've understood what's happened.
