The hob is induction, not gas. It only heats where you set a pan with a magnetic base. It's faster and safer than gas — no flame, it cools down at once — but it needs the right pan. Our pans in the kitchen are all compatible. Right beneath it, behind the kitchen door, is the fridge (Siemens, compact) — see the photo below too.

The fridge · right beneath the hob
Beneath the induction hob, behind the kitchen door, is the compact Siemens fridge (photo above). A standard door, two glass shelves and a drawer at the bottom for fruit and vegetables. To be clear: it's a kitchenette fridge, perfect for a week or two's shopping but not like the one in a large house. For larger groups we suggest shopping more often rather than stocking up.
